Think outside the box

Take the ordinary, and transform it into the extraordinary. The original home, an 1100 square foot modest post-World War II ranch, was showing its years. Like Peter Pan, it had never “grown up”, not quite living up to its potential. The homeowner wishes to see the home transformed from a mere common property into the mature, marketable home that has street appeal and presence. The home should have a strong interior personality, reflecting the owner’s explicit desires: open main floor concept, reams of natural light, high-impact materials that require minimal maintenance.

Open the box, release the flaps and let it soar.

The goals of this Whole House Renovation Under $250,000 are as follows:

  • Transform a simple ranch into a two story property. This renovation includes an open concept living area/kitchen expansion, privacy office, guest room, and a second level master suite, bath and guest room.
  • Invigorate the home with multiple architectural details: pillars, arches, vaults, cathedrals and neo-angles.
  • Use high impact/low maintenance materialsto highlight the home’s personality: cement siding, solid surfaces, glass, cherry and maple.
  • Inject the home with natural light with multiple window treatments.
  • Bring marketability to a home that had been for sale on four separate occasions and failed to result in a sale.
